San Francisco

San Francisco and I have a little bit of history (if you want to know that story, check out the inaugural issue of the Violet).  For that reason, when I go there, it kind of feels like catching up with an old friend - the kind you can pick up with right where you left off, no matter the time it's been since you've seen them.  It kind of feels like going home.

It was a brief trip, but it was the perfect amount of time to make both of my shoots (here and here) better than I ever imagined, wander the sfMoMA (that Rothko gets me every time), and spend some quality time with my favorite Bay Area beauty, Camilla.

Camilla and I have become so close over the past few years and I feel so lucky to have her in my life.  I could go on and on, but instead, I'm just going to keep sending her obnoxious emails and messages telling her how excited I am to see her next week.  And a month after that, too.  I'm really liking the frequency of our visits these days.  Let's keep this up, C.

Last time I was in SF, I managed to take less than twenty pictures, all of Clarion Alley, save for one of the menu at Bugaloos, so this time I'm making up for it.  Here's a random collection of photos from my last trip.

driving down Mt. Tam // flowers on the street // lovely, lovely fog // Bar None // burgers and spiked milkshakes from Super Duper // the view from Camilla's porch - I know, right? //  Rose's Cafe // Kenza right after she mistook my squeals of excitement for fear of oncoming traffic // Chrissy Field // the Presidio // one of the many reasons we are twins // sigh, more fog // Golden Gate // the Violet: behind the scenes // some pretty deep graffiti // more gorgeous flowers

A friend of mine gave me a list of places to go in San Francisco and I managed to make it to a whopping one of them on my last trip.  I'm determined to check off the rest when I'm there in October. If you know of any places I should add, let me know!

Your photos are absolutely gorgeous! Makes me want to visit SF even more than I already wanted to.
