Happy Weekend

In case you missed it:

Some fun things from around the web:

The Hudson Valley's Walk to Defeat ALS is one month from today, so my fundraising is in full force.  I'm kind of really far from my goal.  Like... really far.  If anyone would like to donate to a great cause, it would be so appreciated.  You can donate here.

Have a fantastic weekend!

Happy Weekend

My posts this week on Bijou:

In case you missed them here:
  • Elsie: this baby has beautiful eyes.
  • I really do.: a September 11th post.
  • Lately: the past two months through Instagram.

Here are some of my favorite things from around the web this week:

In ALS news:
  • Getting Up: a documentary on LA Graffiti artist, Tempt, and how he still created art after he was paralyzed by Lou Gherig's disease.
  • A six pack of courageThis 33 year old doctor from Australia spoke with microbrewers shortly after he was diagnosed and, with their help, created a beer that would draw attention to the disease and raise funds for research and equipment.
  • "I just know the doctor my sister arranged for me to see is going to say, " You do not have ALS." I imagine him saying MS, a stroke or a even a brain tumor. I can deal with any of those. At least there's hope." Liz Jones, patient #14 in the Emory Stem Cell Trials, lost her battle with ALS on Wednesday. This is her story on how she discovered her illness and why she joined the clinical trial.

Weekend.

found here. from one of my favorite, favorite movies.
It's the weekend, sort of.  Well, technically speaking it is.  Tomorrow, my work week kicks in to full force with my busiest weekend of the year.  Lots of photos.  Lots of running around.  Lots of love.

On Monday, as everyone begrudgingly pours their coffee and the all too familiar "rise and grind" statuses pop up all over various social networks, I will be tired and aching and glad it's Monday and for those first few conscious moments of the day, I will try to convince myself to spend the day lounging around on a blanket in a park reading book after book from the ever-growing stack of unread words beside my bed, before my mind drifts back to the frames from the preceding days and my curiosity gets the best of me.  I'll give myself time later, I'll promise.

My work is my greatest source of stress and release.  It is my focus and my distraction.
And I am grateful every day for it.

Here are some things that caught my eye this week...

Summer Essentials
the Violet - Summer 2012
San Francisco, California

The Violet's summer issue launched today! This is my favorite issue yet.  And I'm not saying that just because I shot the Summer Essentials feature (i heart fog).  More photos from that here soon.

For more inspiration (er, procrastination)...
